Pokémon shops in Japan

ポケモン

The Pokémon Company runs its own shops in two sizes. A Pokémon Center is the full shop — plush, cards, the store's own regional goods, and often a queue at opening — and there is one in most large cities, usually on an upper floor of a department store or a station building. A Pokémon Store is the smaller format, found in stations and airports, handy on the way out of the country. Neither sells single cards: for those, a card shop in Akihabara or Ikebukuro is the place. Card releases sell out on the morning of release.

26 shops in 12 prefectures, with facts read on their official page.

How this list is built

A shop is listed when the licence is a real reason to go there: an official store, or a shop whose own pages say it stocks that universe. Nobody pays to be listed. How we check and rank, in full.
