Donguri Republic (Ghibli) shops in Japan

どんぐり共和国

Donguri Republic (どんぐり共和国) is the Studio Ghibli shop, and it is the only chain that sells Ghibli goods in Japan: plush, tableware, music boxes, stationery, Totoro at every size. Branches sit in department stores, station buildings and shopping malls from Hokkaido to Okinawa, and the stock is much the same in each, so the nearest one is usually the right one. A few tourist branches — Kiyomizu in Kyoto, Kusatsu — add items tied to the place. None of them is the Ghibli Museum, which is in Mitaka and needs a ticket bought in advance.

37 shops in 19 prefectures, with facts read on their official page.

How this list is built

Branches come from the chain’s own shop list, with the date of the last check on each shop page. Nobody pays to be listed. How we check and rank, in full.
