How do you get around Ikebukuro?

Leave Ikebukuro station by the east exit and follow Sunshine 60-dori, the busy shopping street, to Sunshine City, about ten minutes away. Higashi-Ikebukuro station on the Yurakucho line is closer if you go straight to Sunshine City.

What is Otome Road?

Otome Road (“maidens’ road”) is the street beside Sunshine City where shops for female fans of anime and games gathered: character goods, fan comics, second-hand acrylic stands and badges. Today everyone shops there, and it is the best place in Tokyo for second-hand character goods.

Not for regular visits. Some official shops use numbered tickets or lotteries for big releases: check the shop's website in the days before.

What is a pop-up or "only shop"?

A temporary shop for one series, open a few weeks with goods sold nowhere else. Ikebukuro hosts many of them, especially inside Sunshine City and around Otome Road.

Is Ikebukuro good with children?
