Otaku shops in Den Den Town (Nipponbashi)

Den Den Town is Osaka's electric quarter turned hobby quarter, a straight walk south from Namba along Sakaisuji and the parallel Ota Road. Ota Road is the otaku side: animate, Lashinbang, Melonbooks and the doujinshi shops sit within a few blocks of each other, with Mandarake Grand Chaos a little further on. Super Potato and Jungle cover retro games and figures, Volks holds several floors of models and dolls. Shops here open later than Tokyo's, often at 11:00 or noon, and stay open to 20:00.
