Sets are the same worldwide, and the reason to buy here rather than at home is the Japan-exclusive and store-exclusive sets, plus the pick-a-brick and minifigure counters a brand store has and a toy shop does not.

To know · Boxed sets are bulky and light, which is the worst possible shape for hand luggage. Buy on the way out of Japan rather than at the start of a trip.
