Otaku shopping in Tokyo
東京
Tokyo holds four of the districts on this map, and they do not sell the same thing. Akihabara is the biggest field: figures, trading cards and retro games stacked ten floors high. Nakano is the second-hand capital, almost all of it inside one 1966 shopping centre. Ikebukuro is the women-oriented side, built around Otome Road and Sunshine City. Tokyo Station is new official goods, bought on the way out. They sit within twenty minutes of each other on the Yamanote and Chuo lines, but a day covers one district, not two.
